The rules here are pretty simple and if you are not a newbie to play-by-post RPGs most of this will be common sense. But none the less it is required.
Rule the First: R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Find out what it means to me. That would be everything. Respect your fellow players, end of story. Any harassment, derogatory remarks, bullying, etc will be dealt with harshly. It's simple folks. Treat others the way you want to be treated. Unless you're a masochist that is. Then treat them better. Sure your characters may hate each other with a passion but keep that IC (In Character) not OOC (Out Of Character). The severity of the offense will determine how you are dealt with if you break this most important rule. Admin decisions are final. So don't be a whiner if you pick on someone or spout hate speak and get banned.
Rule the Second: You can have as many characters as you can keep up with but if you start slacking (especially if you have canon chars) you will be asked to pick up the slack and post at least once a week. If you can't/won't without an away notice being posted then you might have your character taken from you. Be sure that you create a new account for each character. You cannot play them all from one account. It's confusing. Please don't do it.
Rule the Third: cBox behavior - Unless you post within brackets (( )) your post will be assumed to be In-Character. There might be RP in the cBox for fun and it is a good tool to get a handle on your character and a feel for them as well. But don't abuse it. No killing or death in the cBox, fights should not get out of hand either, verbal or otherwise. No graphic romanticism in the cBox either. This means? NO SEXIN IN THE CBOX! Fade to black and take it to YIM, AIM, MSN, or something. Don't do it here. Also, the cBox is there for fun, something to do between posts, a way to enjoy the company of other players but it should NOT replace posting on the board. If you are ignoring posts or not posting but spend hour upon hour in the cBox you will get a PM to remind you. Further action might go from there. One last thing, don't post In-Character in the cBox till your app is approved. It is HIGHLY frowned upon.
Rule the Fourth: Time Travelers/Dimension Hoppers - Yeah, the point is to keep the worlds separate not to have a few characters that can flit between them. The rules of the dimensions are vastly different and contradict each other. So please don't make a character for the sole purpose to flit between the three worlds. It will not be accepted. From time to time there will be Staff hosted cross-over events. These are the only cases where this can happen.
Rule the Fifth: Playbys - Because the worlds are separate it is feasible that there could be a PB for a character that is the same PB as someone else's. Amy Acker is a good example of this as she is the PB of a canon character on both Supernatural as well as Angel. Jensen Ackles also appeared on both Smallville (his charrie is dead now, don't app him!) and on Supernatural. Just be sure to check the Face Claims before choosing one.
Rule the Sixth: No long lost relatives of canon characters. I don't care if they are daughters, sons, cousins, or the tax accountant's nephew's second cousin. It's called jumping the shark. Don't do it. Period. Also in this vein...there will be no children from the future or another dimension that appear either. Again. Do. Not. Do. It.
Rule the Seventh: I'm not going to say you have to post X amount of words blah blah blah BUT One liners, one paragraph, and chat speak posts will not be accepted and likely will be deleted and you will be asked to try again. This is to be a place for writers to enjoy flexing those big words in their heads. Okay,..so maybe not all big words but, you should have a good 2+ paragraphs of post to show your character's reactions, speech, actions, etc. Give your writing partner something to work with or they might not want to write with you in the future.
Rule the Eighth: Due to Proboards Policies no graphic sex or incessant drug use should be posted. They will shut us down. So if you really want to bump uglies from where a post is going, fade to black, take it to a messenger, then you can fade back in after it's over. We really don't want them shutting us down.
Rule the Ninth: Staff reserves the right to modify and add to the Rules at any time. If this occurs an announcement will be made to inform players. All players will be expected to read them.
